Warren Buffet never ceases to astound me. At the age of 94, his net worth is over $160B, yet he still lives in the same home he bought in Omaha Nebraska at the age of 28 for $31,500. (1)
When I look at news clips of him, his eyes exude warmth and enthusiasm for life, and he is still just as sharp as ever.
AND he has the absolute worst diet of any human being I’ve ever known or can imagine.
He eats McDonalds for breakfast, drinks 5 cokes a day, and enjoys cookies and ice cream most days. Here are a few of my favorite quotes: (2)
So I decided to eat like a 6-year-old. It’s the safest course I can take.”
And I’m happier when I’m drinking Coke or eating hot fudge sundaes or hot dogs.”
I don’t think I’d live as long. I would approach every meal thinking it’s like going to jail or something.”
I’m hard pressed to say that his diet is what’s kept him going this long. Rather, I think it’s the way he enjoys life:
Buffet is a great reminder that happiness isn’t something we buy – it’s something we build. One meal, one laugh, and one perfectly average day at a time.
Enjoy your day!
